Answers to common questions about psychiatric care, evaluations, medication management, and what to expect at Carbonell & Associates in Chicago.

Yes.  We accept most commercial and government-provided plans, however, we do not participate in all HMOs. Please contact our registration office at 872-259-0818 to confirm our practice is in-network with your particular policy, as insurance companies offer a wide variety of insurance plans.


We will do our best to offer you appointments with the provider of your choice. Please understand that Dr. Carbonell cannot see every new patient that contacts our office and we must balance provider preference with timely scheduling.


We treat adults, age 18 to 64 and seniors, age 65 and above. We do not treat children.


Initial consultations last approximately 60 minutes; follow-up appointments last approximately 30 minutes.


Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma/PTSD, Adjustment Disorders, OCD, anger management, grief, LGBTQ+ care, and more. Please call our registration office at 872-259-0818 to confirm our providers can meet your treatment needs.


Yes. All our providers offer telehealth appointments from your home or other location. If you prefer, you can choose to meet with your provider in-person at our Chicago clinic. If your needs change, just let your provider know.


When you first visit Carbonell & Associates, you will take part in a one-on-one initial assessment with your provider. During this assessment, the provider will gather information about your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and life circumstances. This information helps your psychiatrist better understand your condition.


Your provider will obtain your medication history and current regimen during your first visit. Your symptom relief on past and current medications and dosing levels will be reviewed. Your provider will make changes to your medications or dose levels, based on collaboration with you. You will be required to attend follow-up appointments following any medication changes.
